1 Corinthians 10:8

We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did , and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day .

We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
