Luke 8:13

And the ones on the rock are those who , when they hear the word, receive it with joy . But these have no root ; they believe for a while , and in time of testing fall away .

Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

They on the rock are they , which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
