Psalms 54

¹ The Lord Upholds My Life To the choirmaster : with stringed instruments . A Maskil of David , when the Ziphites went and told Saul , Is not David hiding among us? O God , save me by your name , and vindicate me by your might .

² O God , hear my prayer ; give ear to the words of my mouth .

³ For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life ; they do not set God before themselves.

⁴ Behold , God is my helper ; the Lord is the upholder of my life .

⁵ He will return the evil to my enemies ; in your faithfulness put an end to them.

⁶ With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name , O Lord , for it is good .

⁷ For he has delivered me from every trouble , and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies .

¹ Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might.

² Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.

³ Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me— people without regard for God.

⁴ Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.

⁵ Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.

⁶ I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.

⁷ You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

¹ Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

² Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

³ For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul : they have not set God before them. Selah.

⁴ Behold, God is mine helper : the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

⁵ He shall reward evil unto mine enemies : cut them off in thy truth.

⁶ I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.
